We at Linen Trail use 44-60 LEA count, which works best for shirts, since they are not too transparent, but are incredibly soft to touch, and offer an incredibly comfortable feel. What you see in our shirts is a solid weave fabric - the yarns are snugly locked together, to create a sturdy fabric. This solid woven fabric can then be dyed in different colors. We love using this weave for our monochrome pieces too!

Can you iron a white linen shirt?

You can iron all your linen clothes if you want, but the charm of linen lies in the wrinkles and creases. 

How do I style a white linen full-sleeved shirt for a party? 

You can wear it with formal black trousers and add a formal blazer if it is a formal party; however, if it is more on the casual side, you can wear the white shirt with blue denim and roll up the sleeves. Add a dark-coloured jacket to add another layer or an extra dimension to your outfit. 

Can linen shrink?

Linen does have a tendency to shrink, which is why our linen goes through a pre-wash, which takes away all the shrinkage, even before we start crafting our garments. 

Should darks and lights be washed separately?

Yes, ideally you should wash lights and darks separately. White shirts should most definitely be washed separately.

Washing

For the first wash, Soak the shirt in lukewarm water to avoid creasing.
- You can hand wash or give a gentle machine wash with mild detergent and a short spin.
- Tumble dry it at a low temperature (remove from the dryer while they are slightly damp before they become stiff)
- Separate light and dark colours Wash in lukewarm or cold water at 40 Degree Celsius or 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Avoid bleaching as it weakens the fibres and may affect the colour of the dyed linens.
